The Napoli Foods story can be traced back before its opening in 1980. Having immigrated to the United States as children from Italy, Mark Cipriano and Angelo Farisello were always appreciative of the importance that food plays in bringing the family together. Because of this, when their paths crossed in the late 1970s, Mark and Angelo decided that their futures lied in perpetuating these very traditions. Therefore, they combined their dreams and opened a small deli in the Italian section of Waterbury, CT called Napoli Imports.
Not long after opening, Napoli Imports began selling many of the featured products wholesale the area's finer restaurants and pizzerias. The growing company added a third partner, Michael Cipriano, and has since grown into one of the largest wholesale importers and distributors in the Northeast. This change in focus also saw a change in the name of the company from Napoli Imports to Napoli Foods.
The new company has enjoyed success by capitalizing on the experience of nearly 25 years in the foodservice industry, as well as by building on their regional stature. Because of this, Napoli Foods enjoys a crucial advantage over its larger, national competitors because of the close personal attention each customer receives.
